SKAZ — card battles in a Slavic fairy tale
Six heroes, 150 hand-painted cards and a duel that fits into a coffee break. Free in your browser, no download and no ads.
What a battle looks like
Two heroes, 30 life each. Every turn you get one more mana crystal, play creatures and spells, and send your creatures at the enemy — the first hero to fall loses. A deck is exactly 25 cards, no more than two copies of the same one, so the draw stays honest and a game lasts around ten minutes.
Keywords are plain words, not jargon: Guard makes the enemy strike that creature first, Prelude fires once when the card leaves your hand, Bequest fires when the creature dies, Amulet cancels the first hit whatever its size.
Heroes
Armor, weapons and steadfast retainers. The easiest start for a newcomer.
Spells, frost and fire. Board control and the finishing blow.
Beasts, packs and fast mana. Pressure from the first turns.
Undead, sacrifice and power bought with health. Risky and mighty.
Healing, protection and stealing enemy creatures. Long games.
Pursuit, weapons and venom. Cheap, sly and painful.
Solo play
The Far Away Kingdom is a road of 8 bosses, each with a rule of their own: Likho blights a creature every turn, Baba Yaga feeds hers, Gorynych breathes fire over the whole board, and Koschey simply refuses to die the first time. Before that, Koschey himself teaches you the game in three short lessons — with rewards.
Questions
- What is SKAZ?
- SKAZ is a collectible card game set in a bright Slavic fairy tale. You pick a hero, build a deck of 25 cards and duel live opponents or bots. The cards are bogatyrs, beasts, spirits and monsters from Russian folklore: Baba Yaga, Gorynych the Dragon, Kolobok, the Frog Princess. The collection holds 150 cards.
- Is it free? Do I need to install anything?
- It is free and runs in the browser — no download, no installer. A guest can play right away; signing in keeps your collection, gold and rank on the account so you can continue from any device.
- Are there ads?
- None at all: no banners, no rewarded videos, no pop-ups. A battle is never interrupted.
- How is it different from other card games?
- The battle is shorter and kinder to a newcomer: a 25-card deck, a hand of 8, six creatures on the board, 45 seconds per turn. There are no hidden mechanics, and the player who goes second gets an extra card, the Wayfarer’s Gift (one extra mana for a turn) and 4 armor — so the first turn stops deciding the game.
- How many cards and heroes are there?
- 150 cards: 60 neutral and 15 for each of the six heroes. Among them 10 legendary and 19 epic. The heroes are Dobrynya Nikitich, Marya Morevna, Leshy, Koschey the Deathless, Vasilisa the Wise and Solovey the Whistler.
- Can I play alone, without an opponent?
- Yes. There is training against a bot on three difficulty levels and a story mode, the Far Away Kingdom — 8 bosses with their own battle rules, from Likho the One-Eyed to Koschey the Deathless. The first win over each boss pays a separate reward.
- What language does the game speak?
- The game picks your language on start: English or Russian, including full voice-over for the heroes, the bosses and Koschey’s lessons. You can switch it any time in Settings.
